Parent: We love CMASAS! Give CMASAS a try, even if it's for 1 course to test it out. My child has thrived at iUP! I couldn't have asked for a better high school to prepare her for college. The only thing I wish is that iUP would offer more AP courses, but I understand if they face constraints to do so since they are a small school. The counselors are prompt about responding to emails and helpful with sharing resources about college admissions. The staff and admins are also wonderful! I have felt supported and listened to as a parent. The teachers have all prioritized learning and it shows in the kind of individualize attention that students receive. If my child feels like they are struggling with a particular concept or subject, all they have to do is text/email their teacher or work with them during their office hours.
They genuinely want these kids to be successful in their classes and beyond. The teachers are supportive of students and really care about them. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this school. Everest Academy, you have the opportunity to make a connection with each of your teachers, which adds to the overall experience. That might seem intimidating to some but fortunately you still have the guidance and help from teachers and counselor who will help you make the best decisions for your goals and needs. In a way you get that college experience of having different classes on different days and times having to balance your class time, homework, and extracurricular schedules is all a part of it. Everest Academy is an alternative, independent study school, working in that environment provides the students with better time management and communication skills than at your typical high school. Everest are very caring and truly look out for the students best interest.
Everest Academy is an exceptional school that offers a unique learning experience for each student. Thanks to Davidson I finally feel at home at school. I’d always had trouble taking notes, planning, and studying but DAO has let me create my own strategies for each! The school is meant for gifted kids and it shows in everything they do. Davidson has helped be become a successful student too. I’ve made strong friendships and connections throughout my two years. But at Davidson, the live sessions were stimulating and engaging, the teachers were invested in my learning, the work was actually interesting, and my peers were amazing!. Not to mention my online school experience was very small as I had only taken a few asynchronous online classes before. I had been to two other schools just the year before (one magnet and one public) and neither had worked.
When I first joined Davidson I was worried. Junior: Throughout my years as a student I have been to private, public, magnet, and online schools, but none of those experiences compare to the DA online campus. Really, the best advice I could give in terms of social exposure while at this school is to join a couple extracurriculars outside OHS - especially if you're enrolling full-time. It's even worth it to join a couple clubs, although not all are very active. As for the social aspect of OHS: it's hard to grasp, but adequate as long as you are tangibly present during class discussion (and in Skype chats, which are the students' main form of communication). The vast majority of my teachers have been proven to be very advanced and knowledgeable in their fields. The high school and AP courses, especially, are very demanding, although also extremely rewarding. I'm sure many have heard of the rigorous academic curriculum at OHS - and they aren't joking.

Junior: I've been enrolled at OHS for three years now, and I've had the privilege of experiencing all three different enrollment options here (single course, part time, and full time) each for one year.
